Fading Away

Fading Away

Slowly everything comes to an end over here in Kamloops. And one day I realised that I only spend a couple of days down in Vancouver. It was about time for me to take the next Greyhound and spend a few days in the city that made me want to go back to Canada so badly. (more…)

Time Flies

Time Flies

Wow how time flies! The last week of classes here in Kamloops is already over. There’s not much left to do, but still not all work is done. But I will come to that later. There’s been way more amazing things happening here in Loopstown. First of all, while I was volunteering for the amazing race last Saturday, Faisal and I, who was at the same post as I was, got offered a job out of the blue. A guy just drove by and stopped and asked what we were doing there, and after a few minutes of small talk he told us that he’s exactly looking for people like us, business students with time and willingness to get stuck in. People that get up at 6 on a Saturday morning just for a good cause. The job is supposed to be in the internet marketing industry, sadly I don’t know anything further so far. We’ve scheduled a meeting for next Monday. (more…)

Fairytales of Canuckistan

Fairytales of Canuckistan

It’s been some time since my last blog post and my life’s got quite tedious and boring compared to that week off. However, the first few days I was catching up sleep, catching up studying, catching up with everyday life. As I try not to bore you here’s everything (at least partly) exciting I’ve done: I went curling, St. Patrick’s Day took place and my glasses got smashed on the middle of the dance floor, so I had to get new ones. Roadtrip

Roadtrip

As mentioned in previous posts, we were going to do a little roadtrip during the midterm break. We, that’s 8 people travelling in two cars, travelling to Seattle first, and then head up north to Vancouver for some days. So we started last Saturday morning around 8 and drove via the Coquahila Pass to the US-Border where we waited to obtain our Visa. (more…)

The Small World We Are Living In

The Small World We Are Living In

So, I’m back on track again, have loads of work that needs to be done. And there’s always something that pops in my mind again, that I need to do, or should have been doing a long time ago. And sometimes the day just doesn’t have enough hours to complete all these tasks that need to be done. All I can do is keep it up and try my best to get the desired results out of everything. The first few midterms didn’t go too well though, I famously failed in finance, and just got away with a D in Business Ethics, whereas I got an A- in Macro. Nothing that couldn’t be fixed. Just need to keep on working on it. (more…)

Culture & Exams

Culture & Exams

Hey out there. I thought it’s about time for a new blog entry, although I didn’t do anything too interesting in the meantime. It’s been pretty tough studying for the finals at the HTW and keeping up with reading at the same time for all my subjects here at TRU. Furthermore I’ve had 2 presentations, where we performed pretty well and got some good points for it, and some exams as well, besides the usual quizzes due before class (approximately 2-3 per week) which give certain marks. The macroeconomics quiz went great actually, with 10/10 points. The exam in Business Ethics on the other side wasn’t the brightest thing I ever wrote and it was accordingly marked. I wasn’t surprised of the outcome as I didn’t get to read all the chapters I would have had to (4, I made it as far as mid 2nd). However, after all the finals were over I was pretty excited about letting my hair down, at least for one or two days. (more…)

Welcome To Canada!

Welcome To Canada!

Hey out there. It’s been a while since I left Switzerland for Canada. I decided to write it all in English, in order to keep my mind off thinking “German”. I hope to get the most out of my stay this way. ( http://www.google.ch/language_tools?hl=de ist ein super Übersetzungstool, einfach URL bei “Webseite übersetzen” eintippen.) (more…)
